Caltrans has awarded community-based transportation planning grants to Buellton and Grover Beach  to create master plans for bikeways and trails.

Buellton received $100,000. Its plan will include a series of interactive public meetings and workshops to integrate the community’s priorities.

Grover Beach received $11,520 to collect community input and create a bicycle master plan.
The grants are awarded by Caltrans to encourage community involvement in deciding transportation needs. They are awarded yearly by Caltrans on a competitive basis. A state approved bicycle transportation plan establishes eligibility for the state Bicycle Transportation Account, which funds the construction of bicycle facilities.
