Airport fees increased in Ventura County
It is going to cost pilots and aircraft owners more money each month to park their small piston and jet aircraft in a hangar or tie-down on the tarmac at Camarillo and Oxnard Airports as of July 1.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved June 10 a 7.6 percent monthly rent increase at both airports. No opposition from tenants at the airports was expressed. They were notified about the planned rental hike more than two months ago.
Rents and fees charged at both airports, which are lower than other airports in the region, pay for all the operational costs. Camarillo Airport is considered one of the top 30 busiest airports for general aviation in the nation. Nearly 600 aircraft are based at Camarillo and about 160 aircraft are at Oxnard.
