$4.3M highway contract awarded
The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments has awarded a construction contract for operational and safety improvements on Highway 154 from Santa Barbara north to the Highway 246 intersection.
The contract was awarded to Granite Construction, which submitted the lowest bid at $4.3 million – about $2.3 million below the estimate prepared by engineers for the project, association officials said. Construction is scheduled to begin in July and continue through summer 2009.
