Ramp closed until July 18
The southbound off-ramp of Highway 101 at Avila Beach Drive in Shell Beach is closed until July 18. Motorists can use the San Luis Bay Drive exit as an alternate route, Caltrans officials said.
This closure is part of a project to add a new lane on the southbound highway from Avila Beach Drive to Shell Beach Road. Lane closures are scheduled in both directions of the highway from Spyglass Drive to the San Luis Obispo Creek Bridge weekdays during overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The northbound off-ramp at Avila Beach Drive remains subject to occasional closures weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed five minutes. The project is about half complete with construction expected to be complete early next year.
