Quick diagnosis delivery – Carpinteria firm

A cancer patient lies on the operating table having a tumor removed. The surgical team wants to know whether they’ve removed all the offending tissue, but only a lab test can tell.

Those tests, read by a pathologist, involve what’s known as immunohistochemistry, or IHC, and usually take at least an hour and half to generate results. But Carpinteria-based Celerus Diagnostics, which employs about 25, makes lab equipment that can cut that time down to 15 minutes, letting the surgeons make critical decisions while the patient is still on the table.
