On July 29, the U.S. Green Building Council, or USGBC, announced the certification bodies for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Green Building Rating System, as follows:

In January, the USGBC plans to move administration of the LEED certification process to the Green Building Certification Institute, or GBCI, a nonprofit organization established in 2007 with the support of the green building council. GBCI will work with the selected certification bodies to “deliver a substantially improved, ISO compliant certification process that will be able to grow with the green building movement,” the council reported.
