Miramar plans gets conceptual OK
Even though the long-delayed Miramar Hotel project has received a green light, its fate won’t be discussed again until Oct. 8.
Developer Rick Caruso’s Miramar plan appeared to be collapsing three weeks ago. However, the Montecito Planning Commission on Aug. 28 gave new life to the project by reversing its Aug. 6 decision to require the developer to conduct a partial environmental impact review.
After a daylong hearing, the commission cast a nonbinding vote to approve Caruso’s plan in concept.
