Nordstrom shines light on The Oaks remodel

IN THIS ARTICLE

Nordstrom, the golden child at The Oaks shopping center in Thousand Oaks, celebrated its grand opening Sept. 5, representing the culmination of extensive remodeling, redevelopment and planning to secure the 30-year-old mall’s status as a top regional lifestyle shopping destination.

More than two years after The Oaks shopping center developer Macerich – also responsible for Pacific View Mall in Ventura and La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara – secured entitlements for redevelopment, a new 138,000-square-foot, two-level Nordstrom department store has opened its doors to customers. The full-line store includes a new Nordstrom restaurant concept called Blue Stove. Only the second of its kind in the country, Blue Stove offers small, tapas-style plates and a wine bar. A Sept. 3 gala event kicked off the opening of the store.
“The tone of the evening was that people are so proud to have Nordstrom in this community and for this center to be taking shape and becoming the jewel of this area,” Nicole Flynn, senior manager of marketing for The Oaks, told the Business Times.
