IN THIS ARTICLE

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said an Oct. 19 verbal confrontation between incumbent county Supervisor John Flynn and his electoral opponent, John Zaragoza, an Oxnard City Council member, did not result in criminal conduct.

The 67-year-old Zaragoza said Flynn cursed him and gave him the middle finger in front of campaign workers and a young grandson, according to the reports.

The 75-year-old Flynn said there were was a confrontation but disputed Zaragoza’s account, saying it was he who felt threatened by the Oxnard official.
