SLO Airport plans cut in half
The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors chopped its airport terminal project nearly in half at its Feb. 3 meeting. The terminal project will downsize from a multi-level 77,000-square-foot structure to 42,000 square feet.
The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport currently stands at 12,000 square feet.
The board scrapped plans for a 1,100-spot parking garage; the county will instead repave the 500-space Lot 5, now a dirt lot near Highway 227.
The cutbacks are expected to reduce the cost of the project from $55 million to $28 million.
