KCLU wins awards
KCLU, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties’ National Public Radio station, won seven awards for stations in small markets from the Associated Press Broadcasters Association on June 27, the station said.
KCLU got three awards for its coverage of Santa Barbara County’s Tea Fire and Ventura County’s Sesnon Fire. News Director Lance Orozco also won awards for news writing, the use of sound and sports reporting. He also won “Pat Davis Radio Reporter of the Year” for the fifth year in a row.
The station competed with others in 12 Western states. The Business Times joins KCLU weekdays at 3:30 p.m. for a daily roundup of local stock prices and business news.
