Eyeing new concepts
Health care reform may be the hottest topic in the United States, but one Goleta medical equipment firm is focusing its attention on developing low-cost medical imaging technology for overseas markets.
Pointe Conception Medical is launching what it says is the first integrated and networked endoscopic camera system in the world. The new medical video technology is aimed primarily at developing markets, small private practices and veterinary offices in the U.S.
With more than $4 million in initial angel start-up capital and a vision for transforming the medical imaging world, Pointe Conception was launched in 2006 with Chief Executive Officer Bruce Kennedy at the helm. The firm currently has nine employees.
