Three people to watch as recession ends

During the past 10 years, we’ve come to rely on a select group of leaders to guide major enterprises in the Tri-Counties.
 

Although there have been changes from time to time, that leadership has been remarkably stable. But there are signs of a changing of the guard in leadership in business, and politics as well.

At Amgen, the region’s largest corporation, the path is being created for a successor to longtime Chief Executive Officer Kevin Sharer.

At CKE Restaurants, soon to be owned by Apollo Management Group, the strings will now be pulled by Leon Black, a savvy New York investor who may or may not give CEO Andy Puzder the kind of free range he’s enjoyed as the CEO of a publicly traded company.

And finally, there’s Abel Maldonado.
