Message on a bottle: New Paso Robles firm takes the paper out of wine labels
A Paso Robles start-up is breaking into the region’s wine industry by creating custom wine bottle labels printed directly on glass.
Peltier Glassworks was founded recently by Adam and Marisa Peltier, a husband-and-wife team who both graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It’s the only glass silk screening company on the Central Coast, Adam Peltier said.
“We’re geographically poised to be the No. 1 silk screener for the Central Coast AVA [American Viticulture Area],” he said.
Peltier Glassworks is still in the early stages, doing small jobs until its operations get off the ground. But Peltier estimated that his firm, which is based out of a 4,000-square-foot warehouse in Paso Robles, will be able to print 150,000 labels in its first year, a number he expects to double in the second year.
