Editorial: Why leadership matters
It’s hard to do business on the Central Coast and not run into Dave Juhnke. The longtime partner at Sinsheimer Juhnke Lebens & McIvor LLP has been a relentless advocate for business, sacrificing plenty of evenings and weekends to public service and for that he’s been named Citizen of the Year by the San Luis Obispo Chamber.
Juhnke’s award kicks off a season of honors for leaders up and down the Central Coast. We’ll take a few words to recognize several other worth honorees: The Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce recently honored Dr. Lois Jovanovic, Mario Borgatello, Dr. Frank Doyle of UCSB and Kathleen Bauske at its annual awards luncheon.
Ventura County’s Economic Development Collaborative and the Ventura County Economic Development Association held their joint annual meeting on Jan. 19. EDC-VC recognized William Pratt of Kinamed and Jared Williams at KL-Megla and VCEDA gave well-deserved honors to Ron and Lisa Greenwood.
