Editorial: MIT connects business community
Our editor recently attended a once-a-decade board retreat for the MIT Enterprise Forum’s Central Coast chapter. This is the smallest chapter in the nation but one of the most vibrant, serving entrepreneurs across the Tri-Counties and sometimes beyond.
Although the specifics of the board deliberations will remain confidential, it is important to recognize the role that programs such as MIT Enterprise Forum of the Central Coast play in the overall economic vitality of the region. The power of combining a global brand such as MIT with our region’s world-class entrepreneurs cannot be overstated.
At various times in the past couple of decades the ability of our MIT Enterprise Forum chapter to reach our entire region has waxed and waned with the economy. Based on the enthusiasm level at the retreat, the forum is poised for a significant growth phase.
We encourage our local entrepreneurs and members of the MIT community who are living in the region to engage with the forum. It is truly a unique opportunity to learn, connect and thrive.
