Semtech’s LoRa Alliance grows to 500 members
The LoRa Alliance, founded in part by Camarillo semiconductor producer Semtech, reached 500 members, the company announced June 29.
The milestone will help further the adoption of the long-range, low-power network, called LoRa or LoRaWAN, Semtech said in a news release.
“With well-known global leaders in the LoRa Alliance, the IoT industry is increasingly coming to recognize the value of LoRaWAN networks,” said Marc Pegulu, vice president and general manager for Semtech’s Wireless and Sensing Products group. “Semtech’s LoRa technology has a vast opportunity for growth as the industry builds consensus that LoRaWAN is a great fit for scalable, low power IoT applications.”
Airgain, Comcast, Gemalto, Renesas and Wipro are some of the new companies to join the alliance.
