The Santa Barbara Airport will add a daily nonstop flight to Sacramento International Airport beginning April 16, the airport announced on Jan. 31.
Contour Airlines will begin accepting bookings for the flight on Feb. 1. The premium, low-fare airline also announced it will increase the number of daily flights from Santa Barbara to Oakland and Las Vegas to two flights starting May 1.
Contour Airlines became part of the airport’s carrier roster in October with nonstop service to Oakland and Las Vegas. Sacramento flights will be offered via Contour Airline’s ERJ-135 aircraft fleet, which provides an in-flight entertainment system and first class seating. Contour Airlines also does not charge for checked bags.
“We are thrilled our successful new partnership with Contour Airlines is already expanding,” said airport representative Deanna Zachrisson, in a news release. “Contour’s Sacramento service provides easy accessibility for local business travelers and those who want to explore our historic Capital City for pleasure.”
This adds to the airport’s current roster of 11 non-stop destinations including Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle.
