Goleta-based Yardi Systems, a property management software firm, is donating $2 million to assist food banks and other nonprofit organizations throughout North America during the COVID-19 health crisis.
The initiative was inspired by the company’s history of philanthropy. Through the fund, 22 food banks are receiving funds — 19 in the Unites States, and three in Canada.
The recipients include two regional food banks — Food Share in Oxnard and Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. Yardi also made a “significant” donation to the United Way of Santa Barbara County, but the amount was not specified.
“These food banks are doing critical work in their communities to ensure that children and families do not go without sustenance during this crisis,” said Sally Parks, Yardi’s vice president of human resources. “We are pleased to be able to support their efforts and support many of the communities where our North American offices are located.”
