Santa Barbara property manager charged with embezzlement
A property manager in Santa Barbara has been charged with felony embezzlement of his clients, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office announced July 15.
Adam Michael Pirozzi, 40, faces charges of embezzlement, elder abuse and money laundering, as well as a white collar crime enhancement because he is accused of taking more than $500,000.
The charges are in connection with the property management company Pirozzi owns, AMP Core, which also went by other fictious business names, including Santa Barbara Property Management and Harbor View Real Estate, according to a news release from Santa Barbara District Attorney Joyce Dudley’s office. AMP Core had about 100 clients, and the felony complaint alleges Pirozzi embezzled nearly $700,000 from those clients.
Pirozzi, a Santa Barbara resident, is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on Aug. 26. Attempts to reach him on July 15 for comment were unsuccessful.
