Good Works: French Hospital gets $100K from credit union; Awards in South SLO County

IN THIS ARTICLE

French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo has received a $100,000 gift from SESLOC Federal Credit Union, the hospital announced Oct. 11.

The donation will support French Hospital’s ongoing $130 million expansion project, which will add a four-story patient care tower to the existing hospital campus. The hospital now has $114 million committed to the project, $100 million of it from Dignity Health, French Hospital’s nonprofit parent, and the rest from private donors. Dignity plans to complete the expansion in 2024.

The gift makes SESLOC, San Luis Obispo County’s largest credit union, one of the first members of French Hospital’s Beyond Health Business Partners program, joining RRM Design Group, Promega Biosciences. Members of the program get “unique health education benefits” for their workforces, according to Dignity Health’s news release.
