SLO County employee suspended as DA probes misuse of public funds

IN THIS ARTICLE

San Luis Obispo County’s District Attorney’s Office has launched an investigation into a county employee for having potentially misused county funds for personal purchases.

Investigators from the D.A.’s office served a search warrant at the home and the office of the county employee, according to a Nov. 14 press release.

The decision to serve a search warrant comes after the county launched an investigation focused on the potential misuse of county funds for personal purchases and found enough evidence during that internal investigation.

The employee is now on administrative leave and the county is not naming the employee due to the confidentiality restraints of ongoing internal and external criminal investigations, the county said in a press release.

The county will fully cooperate with the criminal investigation and said it will not be making any further statements pending completion of the investigation.
