Pea Soup Andersen’s closes for renovations
A Central Coast staple, Pea Soup Andersen’s in Buellton, shuttered its doors on Jan. 10 with no timetable on when it could return.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the near century-old Pea Soup Andersen’s, according to multiple representatives for the company, the eatery could reopen after redevelopment of the site.
Pea Soup Andersen’s Inn, the hotel alongside the restaurant, is under separate ownership and will not be affected by the eatery’s closure.
Pea Soup Andersen’s of Santa Nella, along Interstate 5, will also remain open.
Located off Highway 101, Pea Soup Andersen’s was set to celebrate its 100-year anniversary in June.
SFGate reported rumors that the property, which went for sale for just under $5 million in 2021, could be redeveloped for housing, however, no officials have made comments on those claims.
