Make It Work, Circuit City exit, setting the table for Whole Foods
Shortly after Circuit City announced that it would be closing its Santa Barbara branch, Make It Work founding partners Eric David Greenspan and Jeremy Anticouni decided it was time to go location shopping.
“When we moved in, we were aware of the fact that it wouldn’t be forever,” Greenspan said. “We wanted to leave as the area is depressing without our neighbor. It just looked kind of dreary without Circuit City.”
During their office hunt, Greenspan and Anticouni stopped for lunch at The Habit in the La Cumbre Plaza, where they were pleasantly surprised to discover a location that fit them perfectly.
The duo signed the lease before lunch was over.
Even though Make It Work’s new 3,600-square-foot space above The Habit is much smaller than the current 5,000-square-foot State Street office, Greenspan thinks the new location is “absolutely perfect for us.”
Within 10 minutes of signing the lease, Regency Centers, the owner of the building that housed Make It Work and Circuit City, contacted Greenspan and Anticouni with a 90-day notice to vacate.
