Bank issues to be discussed
Montecito Bank & Trust is sponsoring a free one-hour presentation at 5 p.m. Sept. 17 to discuss the state of the banking system, current economic conditions, specifics about recent bank failures and what to look for when selecting a bank.
The presentation will be at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara. Speakers include Bill Watkins, executive director of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Economic Forecast Project and a former research economist at the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C., who will present an overview of the banking system and current economic conditions.
