I’m pleased to announce that Mark Yudof, president of the University of California, will be the keynote speaker for our 7th annual Spirit of Small Business Awards.

President Yudof has been on the job since March 2008. In recent months, he’s been touring the state speaking to community groups on the need for California to protect and enhance the role of the UC system in advancing innovation.

The Spirit of Small Business awards recognize eight companies in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties that have fewer than 100 employees and that demonstrate a track record of success, the ability to overcome adversity and community involvement.
