You can tell a lot about what’s happening in the economy by taking a walk around the block.

Or, in my case, across the alley.

That’s because, as I am sad to report, the economy has taken its toll on Tuttini’s, Susan and Winston Sullivan’s popular bakery and café located in the building just a few steps from the Business Times’ offices on Carrillo Street in Santa Barbara.
