U.S. Airways to more than double SLO airport flights

IN THIS ARTICLE

The San Luis Obispo County Air Transportation Alliance announced Sept. 22 that U.S. Airways will soon more than double the service it provides at San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.

Alliance representatives, Economic Vitality Corporation President Mike Manchak, San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce President David Garth and airport manager Klaasje Nairne, met with top airline U.S. Airways officials at their headquarters in Phoenix. While there, they received a commitment for the major increase in service, adding both an additional daily flight and larger 86-passenger regional jets. On Oct. 2, the daily number of seats from San Luis Obispo will increase from 100 to 136. On Nov. 2, seats will increase from 136 to 172. And on Dec. 18, total seats will increase from 172 to 222. This net increase of 122 seats is only a few seats short of totally erasing the loss of seats caused by the pull out of American Eagle and Delta announced two months ago.
