Eye center renamed
The Cottage Heath System Eye Center in Santa Barbara has been named the Stewart and Louisa MacDougall Eye Center of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The MacDougalls donated $5 million to support of the hospital’s fundraising campaign for construction, repair and maintenance needs of the eye center.
The MacDougalls divide their time between homes in Montecito and Nantucket Island. The author of 10 golf books, Stewart MacDougall is an industrial and architectural designer of golf equipment, marine equipment, furniture, home architecture and sculpture.
The Stewart and Louisa MacDougall Eye Center is the only hospital-based surgical and diagnostic ophthalmological unit on the Central Coast, covering a spectrum of ophthalmological care including posterior vitrectomy for treatment of retina disease and detachment, corneal transplants, glaucoma surgery, pediatric eye procedures, treatment of eye trauma, laser procedures and cataract surgery with intraocular lens implant.
