More than a decade after San Luis Obispo residents began pushing for a technology park, the dirt is finally flying at California Polytechnic State University.

The result will be a $4.5 million two-story building where small companies can lease space and have access to Cal Poly’s facilities and students. Jim Dunning, project administrator for the California Central Coast Research Partnership, has letters from 10 firms interested in leasing some of the 20,000 square feet that will be available at the tech park’s debut, slated for the summer of 2010.
