Ventura ends swine flu crisis
With 19 probable or confirmed cases of swine flu, the virus continues to spread in Ventura County. However, on May 12, the county Board of Supervisors declared an end to the area’s two-week emergency regarding the virus.
The county can now seek federal and state government reimbursements for flu-related costs.
Meanwhile, Santa Barbara County got its first probable case of swine flu after a 2-year-old Santa Maria girl became ill this week. She reportedly has ties to Grizzly Academy in San Luis Obispo County, where several swine flu cases have been diagnosed.
