Editorial: A gentleman passes
Stan Bartlett helped a regional CPA firm become a name with real brand value — not an easy thing to do.
He was a founding member of Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, one of the region’s oldest accounting firms. He was a genial fellow and a quiet community leader whose accomplishments were recognized by the Santa Barbara Foundation more than a decade ago.
Today his firm, and its Mission Wealth Management affiliate, play an enormous role in fostering entrepreneurship and the education of a future generation of entrepreneurs.
You might say that he was to accounting on the Central Coast what John Wooden was to UCLA basketball.
His death recently at age 88 marks the passing of one of the South Coast’s great gentlemen.
