IN THIS ARTICLE

UCLA Health has opened a new cancer care clinic near Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.

The new clinic, at 309 W. Quinto St., will expand treatment options for residents of Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas, as they will be able to get regular treatment and participate in more than 600 UCLA cancer clinical trials without having to make the journey into Los Angeles.

The clinic is being staffed by two board-certified UCLA medical oncologist/hematologists: Dr. Daniel Greenwald and Dr. Julian Davis, both of whom have provided care to Santa Barbara residents for years.

Greenwald, who has worked in the community since 2007, collaborates with the basic science laboratories at UC Santa Barbara and serves on the Community Leadership Council for the Santa Barbara chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Greenwald also received serves as the director of the tumor board at Cottage Hospital and has received several honors there, including Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care Physician of the Year, Cottage Hospital Physician of the Year and Cottage Hospital Teacher of the Year. Before Greenwald joined UCLA Health, he was the director of clinical research at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center.

Davis was also a part of the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, where he served as the principal investigator for several oncology research clinical trials. He was an American Cancer Society Santa Barbara & Ventura Medical Honoree in 2020.

They will be helped by Amanda Sweet, a physician’s assistant who received her bachelor’s degree from UCSB and her PA certification from James Madison University.
