Editorial: CKE chief’s policy soul mate
CKE Restaurants CEO Andy Puzder has found a kindred spirit — and one with a powerful voice in the public square. Columnist George Will has taken up Puzder’s cause with gusto, featuring his problems in operating the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s fast-food chains in a recent column. The column pointed out, as we’ve done here, the stark contrast between operating in regulation- and work rules-heavy California and other states, notably Texas.
Will also points out, correctly, that a significant unknown for all sorts of American businesses, but especially restaurants, is the ultimate cost of health care reform, aka Obamacare.
