Cal Poly’s new boss thinks big

Incoming Cal Poly San Luis Obispo President Jeffrey Armstrong wants to turn the Tri-Counties’ second-largest university into a catalyst for corporate social responsibility.
An agriculture veteran with a passion for animal welfare and sustainability issues, Armstrong will take the helm of Cal Poly in February, filling the void left by longtime President Warren Baker’s retirement.
In a recent interview with the Business Times, Armstrong outlined his plans for the 18,000-student school.
“There’s a lot of potential to take what’s happening at Cal Poly in sustainability and move that forward,” he said.
