More than two dozen companies that call the Central Coast home earned national recognition after securing a spot on the Inc. 5000’s list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

In total 26 tri-county-based companies earned a spot on the prestigious list, with six of those companies being ranked in the top 1,000 and the top company, Snappt, leading the way with a No. 41 ranking.

The honorees were also split throughout the region, with the majority, 15, being based in Ventura County, seven in Santa Barbara County and four from San Luis Obispo County.

Released Aug. 13, the Inc. 5000 list ranks companies that choose to participate based on their revenue growth between March 31, 2020 and Dec. 31, 2023.

Companies must be based in the U.S., privately held, for-profit and independent while also generating at least $2 million in revenue by Dec. 31, 2023.

According to the list, companies on the Inc. 5000 this year generated 874,940 jobs and $317 billion in revenue.

Of the Central Coast honorees, 16 of them were repeat winners and the 26 total companies had an average median growth of 227% and added over 1,600 jobs, according to the list.

Ojai-based Snappt, the leader of the list, is an AI/fraud detection company for the real estate industry.

The company had a 6,323% three-year growth rate, according to the list.

Snappt raised $100 million in Series A funding in 2022.

On top of earning a high ranking, Snappt was the top firm in the Artificial Intelligence category, further highlighting the company’s innovative use of AI technology to streamline and improve the fraud detection process, it said in an Aug. 13 press release.

“It is truly an honor to be ranked on this year’s Inc. 5000 list as our company continues to grow in its position as a leader and innovator servicing the multifamily industry,” Daniel Berlind, CEO of Snappt, said in a press release.

“As applicant fraud becomes more widespread in our industry, Snappt is staying ahead of the curve both in growth and in providing unmatched fraud detection, equipping residential property managers with the tools needed to combat the rise in sophisticated application fraud.”

Following Snappt was Santa Barbara-based Visionary Solutions, followed by Simi Valley-based Radar Promotions, both new to the list. They had a ranking of No. 509 and No. 534 with a three-year growth rate of 870% and 833%, respectively.

Rounding out the top five were repeat honorees: Santa Barbara-based ParentSquare and Santa Barbara-based telehealth company Artera, ranked No. 763 and No. 957, respectively.

ParentSquare, an education platform aimed at helping keep parents more informed, had a three-year growth rate of 665% and improved from last year’s 1,060 ranking on the list.

“Being named to the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in a row is a tremendous honor. ParentSquare’s triple-digit growth not only speaks to the loyalty of our customers but to our platform’s appeal to a rapidly growing number of K-12 schools and districts,” ParentSquare co-founder and CEO Sohit Wadhwa said in a press release.

“Family engagement is vital to student success, and we are happy to support educators in building and strengthening those school-home connections in a variety of ways.”

Following close behind Artera was Santa Barbara-based Clevr Brands.

Clevr Blends is a wellness brand that makes lattes and other coffee drinks with healthy ingredients and was honored by the South Coast Business and Technology Awards in 2022.

Leading the way for San Luis Obispo-based companies was repeat winner BenchStrength Coaching, founded by Dawn Roley in 2018.

Other familiar faces on the list include San Luis Obispo-based Precision Construction Services (No. 1,635) which earlier this year won the Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for the Pacific Region of the United States; software companies PureSpectrum (No. 3,768), LogicMonitor (No. 3,021) and HG Insights (No. 4,455), based in Westlake Village and Santa Barbara, respectively; and business products and service companies San Luis Obispo-based HiView Solutions (No. 1,564) and Westlake Village-based CorpNet.com (No. 1,628).
