CEO of Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County retiring
Heidi McPherson is retiring after more than ten years as the CEO of Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County.
“Over the past decade and more, I have had the distinct honor and privilege of leading this remarkable and important foundation,” McPherson said in a statement released Aug. 21.
“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together,” she said. “We have made tremendous progress in maturing this foundation, and it’s ready for this next growth phase.”
McPherson will step down at the end of January.
Foundation Board President Kath Tompkins praised McPherson’s tenure.
“Under Heidi’s leadership, our organization experienced remarkable growth and transformation,” Tompkins said.
When McPherson joined the foundation, it had awarded $26 million in grants and scholarships since its inception in 1998. “Today, that number has soared to over $70 million – a testament to the incredible dedication and vision she brought to her role,” Tompkins said.
