MB&T, Aeluma, The Trade Desk add to their boards

• Montecito Bank & Trust has appointed two new members to its board of directors, Dr. Igor Mezic and Veronica Quintana.

Mezic is the chief technical officer and co-founder of MixMode, an AI cybersecurity company based in Santa Barbara. He is also the co-founder of another AI company in Santa Barbara, AIMdyn.

Based in Oxnard, Quintana is a director at the national accounting firm, CBIZ Advisors, LLC. She specializes in the agricultural, construction, manufacturing, restaurant, and professional service industries.

• Goleta-based Aeluma, a semiconductor company specializing in high-performance, scalable technologies for mobile, automotive, AI, defense and aerospace, communication and quantum computing, today announced the appointment of Mike Byron to its board of directors.

Announced Feb. 25, Byron, an accomplished Nvidia finance executive with over 30 years of experience, recently retired as vice president of finance operations & systems at Nvidia, where he played a key role in the company’s growth from a rising GPU innovator to a global semiconductor leader.

“Aeluma is at the forefront of semiconductor innovation, integrating high-performance materials with scalable silicon manufacturing to address the unprecedented demands of AI and quantum computing,” said Byron.

“As computing power requirements surge to enable next-generation AI models and quantum applications, Aeluma’s advanced semiconductor solutions are positioned to deliver the performance and scalability these technologies require.”

• Ventura-based The Trade Desk has appointed Alex Kayyal to its board of directors, effective Feb. 12.

Kayyal has extensive experience as an investor, operator, board member and advisor to groundbreaking technology companies. 

With a strong understanding of how cloud-based services and AI are reshaping the world, he brings valuable insights into scaling high-growth businesses that are transforming industries, a Feb. 12 press release read.

Kayyal was also an early investor in The Trade Desk. He currently serves as a partner at the venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners.

“I’m deeply attracted to companies fueled by a strong sense of mission and a clear vision – those that have the power to reshape entire industries,” said Kayyal.
