Salem Communications said Dec. 10 that it has purchased startup Twitter curation website Twitchy.com from conservative political columnist Michelle Malkin for an undisclosed sum. Camarillo-based Salem runs dozens of Christian and conservative radio stations and websites including HotAir.com. It also publishes magazines and books under those themes.

The bankrupt Camarillo Plaza community shopping center has been sold to an undisclosed Beverly Hills buyer for $17.8 million after receiving 20 separate offers. The 74,072-square-foot mall is located on Daily Drive at the intersection of Brently Avenue, across Highway 101 from the Camarillo Premium Outlets.

Christian and conservative media operator Salem Communications Corp.’s third-quarter profits jumped 58 percent to $5.3 million, or 21 cents per share, as revenue increased 3.1 percent to $58.5 million. The Camarillo-based firm’s revenue continued to shift to the Web, with third-quarter Internet revenue increasing 20.4 percent to $9.4 million.
